Meals and Menus

Mealtimes are an important part of the day in all our homes.

All meals are served at the small round tables in the open-plan dining area of the home. Each resident has a favourite place at table, and special friends they choose to sit with.

Our menus are devised by a registered dietician and prepared in our kitchens by experienced cooks. Weekly menus rotate on a 4-weekly cycle, changing seasonally and taking full advantage of fresh produce. The emphasis is on wholesome home cooking, with special dietary needs such as diabetes catered for, cultural requirements respected, and dishes adapted to suit the needs of residents who require puréed or minced diets.

There are three main meals a day, as well as morning and afternoon tea at which fresh home baking is a highlight. Supper includes home made sandwiches with a protein filling, biscuits and hot milky drinks. Finger foods and fruit are always available between meals. Just as at home, residents’ family and friends are always welcome to join them for a meal, with no prior notification and at no charge.
